After reports earlier this afternoon that West Ham United had made a bid for Leeds United's Max Gradel, in the last hour it was confirmed by that the bid has been rejected.

Gudjohnsen was previously linked with a loan move to Upton Park back in January 2010, while the club was under the stewardship of his former team-mate Gianfranco Zola, but he opted to join London rivals Tottenham Hotspur instead.

If a move to East London turns out to be successful this time, it will mean a reunion with Allardyce whom he had previously worked under when he first arrived in English football, with his spell at Bolton Wanderers.
