West Bromwich Albion have been given a boost in their intentions to sign West Ham United's Robert Green this summer, according to the Express & Star.

Albion is one of two options for Green as Aston Villa are also believed to be interested.

Sam Allardyce will find it hard to keep the club's big players including Green, Scott Parker and Carlton Cole, as the East Londoners get ready for life in the second tier of English football.

With the key players given an extended break and returning to training today, Big Sam will have a lot of work to do as he tries to persuade them to stay, but believes they will want to further their international careers and remain in the Premier League.
