West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is close to filling the remaining hole in his coaching staff, as the club are lining up a move for former Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough after the departure of Kevin Keen last week.

Former Liverpool and Bolton assistant manager Sammy Lee was linked to the post, but Allardyce has clearly ruled this out as he has brought Neil McDonald with him from Blackburn and Wally Downes is the only remaining member from Avram Grant's regime.

Baraclough held the role of assistant boss to Nigel Adkins at Glamford Park until Adkins left to take up the managers position at Southampton in September 2010 and Baraclough subsequently became manager.
