Todays Daily Mirror claims that West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce wants to sign former Bolton and Aston Villa defender Jlloyd Samuel.

Samuel could become the second player to arrive in Allardyce's latest buying spell, if Peterborough's Craig Mackail-Smith chooses East London over Leicester and Brighton, after West Ham had a bid of £3m accepted.

If the Trinadad and Tobagan defender joins the Hammers, he will be set for a second spell at Upton Park after he started his career at the club as part of their academy.

Samuel is available on a free transfer after being released by the Trotters.
