West Ham are reported to be keeping tabs on Stephen Appiah - you know, that Ghanain that used to be really good.

He used to play for Juventus? West Ham have been keen on him before? You know the one.

He would be decent cover for Kieron Dyer, and with Freddie Ljungberg gone, well, you never know, these things could happen.

His current side, Fenerbahce, are willing to cash in on the star who missed the African Cup of Nations with a blood clot on his knee.

In fairness, he probably would be still talked about in high regard had he played in the tournament, as he is a really good player.

Only a couple of problems: his knee is still a bit dodgy (so that means he's a shoe-in for the Hammers' injury table) and Tottenham are also reportedly interested.

So, while he would be a good signing, no doubt about that, the £6 million reportedly needed to land the player is probably a litte steep.
