Alan Curbishley has said Robert Green England chances might be helped with a bit of a makeover (albeit somewhat tongue in cheek), after reports he was unhappy the way Green spoke out last month against his contract:

"We rate Greeny highly and nobody has been pushing him more with (England coach) Fabio Capello than me.

"I've said on numerous occasions that perhaps he should dye his hair white and he might be noticed a bit more."

Comedy gold

Still, the comedy gold spewed forth by the Curbster was tempered by annoyance at Green's outburst last month, which he called naive:

"I think it was unnecessary and perhaps a little bit naive in some respects," said the manager.

"At Ipswich he made two great saves and they went unnoticed because that's what he does.

"He's definitely one we rate highly and it was not needed.

"Perhaps in the cold light of day, he will see that as well."
