West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami has finally sealed a move back to Italy and will join  Serie A side Fiorentina, The Daily Mail has revealed.

The Swiss International arrived at Upton Park in July 2008 from Lazio for £5m, but after a good opening season he has become increasingly unsettled in East London and has been linked with a return to Italian Football since last summer.

In October of last year after he briefly returned from injury, Behrami pledged his future to West Ham for the rest of the season but deep down Hammers' fans knew that he was desperate to return to Italy for family reasons.

The paper also reports that after Sunderland had had an initial £3.5m bid for Frederic Piquionne rejected, they have today come back with a slightly increased bid of £4m. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is desperate to capture Piquionne to bolster his strike force after the departure of Darren Bent last week, as Manchester United loanee Danny Wellbeck is injured, meaning that he only has Asamoah Gyan available to him at the current time.
