Barnsley's Hamill linked with West Ham?

According to reports in todays Daily Mail, West Ham United have joined Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic in the race to sign Barnsley striker Adam Hamill.

The Upton Park club are believed to have valued the player at £500,000 and if anything does happen with regards to a transfer, manager Avram Grant is only likely to use him as back-up to the plethora of strikers that he already has at his disposal.

Hamill joined Barnsley from Liverpool just over a year ago and although the Hammers seem to be interested, Club owners David Sullivan and David Gold have vowed to run the club as a 'proper business' rather than spend excessive money on big names and big wages.
