Grant on verge of signing back-up keeper

According to reports, Bayern Munich Goalkeeper Michael Rensing is poised to sign a one-year deal with West Ham United.

Avram Grant has long been on the look-out for a back-up to Robert Green, but already has two fairly good keepers at his disposal in the shape of Marek Stech and Peter Kurucz.

It had been speculated throughout the summer that Green was on the verge of leaving Upton Park with the likes of German side Wolfsburg considering a move as well as interest from Arsenal and Fullham.

On the club's pre-season tour to Austria, Avram Grant had been tracking the progress of Algeria's World Cup keeper Rais M'Bolhi, as well as German keeper Stefan Wessels, but no deal for either these keepers was finalised.
