Diamanti close to Italy return?

According to Sky Sports News, West Ham United midfielder Alessandro Diamanti is discussing personal terms over a possible move to Italian Serie A side Brescia.

The Italian who joined the Hammers in September last year, scored eight goals in total last season. Seven in the league and one in the FA Cup.

If a deal is completed, the player is likely to join up again with former Hammers' technical director Gianluca Nani, who bought him to Upton Park when he was under the stewardship of Gianfranco Zola.

Diamanti has been linked with a return to Italy throughout the summer, with the likes of Parma, amongst others interested.

According to press speculation over the close-season, it seemed that Co-owner David Sullivan was also keen to move Diamanti on.
