David Sullivan has confirmed that Valon Behrami wants to leave West Ham United, according to today's Daily Telegraph.

Behrami has been the subject of speculation surrounding a move back to his native Italy all summer and Sullivan can't see him staying at Upton Park for too much longer.

"We have not had a bid for him," Sullivan said. "He doesn't want to be here, his wife doesn't like London – but he cost us £6 million and his agent got more than £1 million to bring him to West Ham... He's actually a very decent player and I'm surprised we've not had a bid for him."

Behrami is one of the players that West Ham have stated they would like to move out this summer as the club tries to reduce their debt.

Another player whose future has also been speculated about is Matthew Upson, who was the subject of a £7million bid by former boss Steve Bruce to take him to Sunderland but Sullivan believes he will move in to the last year of his contract at Upton Park.

"Sunderland inquired but he didn't think he wanted to go there. I hope this season he does prove he is worthy of playing Champions League. We have no choice if he wants to go into the last year of his contract."

The Hammers are also trying to offload Alessandro Diamanti who has also been linked with moves to Italy with one club allegedly bidding for the player, but not following up their interest.

Sullivan also hopes that midfielder Radislav Kovac's proposed transfer to Stoke will be finalized this week.
