West Ham United manager Avram Grant could offer former Arsenal and Middlesbrough striker Jeremie Aliadiere another chance at Premier League football as has been training with the squad and if he impresses, could earn a short-term deal.

Aliadiere had previously had an unsuccessful loan spell at Upton Park during the club's first season back in the top flight under Alan Pardew.

Grant is hoping to secure a work permit for Serbian Miralem Sulejmani and also tie up a loan deal for ex-Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo. As well as this, he also has Carlton Cole and Frederic Piquionne on the books.

If a deal was to happen, Grant would have to take into consideration both his team selections and formations.

As far as the search for a backup to Robert Green is concerned, the club have also offered a trial to former Nottingham Forest, Southampton and Brentford keeper Paul Smith.
