With the Miralem Sulejmani deal almost complete, the only hold up being a work permit, West Ham United have re-affirmed their interest in Yakubu and have lodged another bid.

Carlton Cole and new signing Frederic Piquionne are currently the only senior strikers at West Ham's disposal and following the release of both Ilan and Guillermo Franco this summer, Grant has been continually looking to add depth to his strike force.

West Ham's continued interest in the Nigerian striker may mean that Everton boss David Moyes will sell, as the £8m the Hammers have offered will mean that he can fund other transfer targets.
