It could be a case of one in and one out at Upton Park, as today's Daily Mail claims Everton have joined the race for 'in demand' West Ham target Loic Remy, meaning the Hammers can fund a deal for long-time target Yakubu, and see striker Carlton Cole move to Anfield if Javier Masscherano leaves Liverpool.

Reds' Boss Roy Hodgson has made a striker his top priority and has made an enquiry about Cole after Tottenham had told them that Peter Crouch would cost them too nuch for a return to Anfield.

Stoke had an offer rebuffed for Cole at the weekend but he does not want to go there even if a fee is agreed and is keen for Liverpool to maintain their interest.
