Well, it's happened. West Ham United have signed Tal Ben-Haim on loan from Portsmouth until January.

The Israeli defender has joined Manager Avram Grant for a third time having played under him at Fratton Park and also Chelsea.

Ben-Haim, 28, has also followed ex-Portsmouth loanee Frederic Piquionne to East London.

However, the club are insisting that their summer spending has not yet finished, with reports of a deal for an unnamed young player who represented their country at the 2010 World Cup being completed in time for the Glamour home friendly against RC Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.
