Sport.co.uk have exclusively revealed that West Ham United are still in the race to sign Everton's Yakubu.

The striker was reportedly going to be Avram Grant's first signing at Upton Park, but the offers West Ham reportedly submitted didn't meet Everton's evaluation as he moved to Goodison for a record transfer fee of £11.25million.

A representative close to the striker told Sport.co.uk:
“West Ham United made an offer which was turned down by the club. Everton value Yakubu higher than what West Ham United are willing to pay for him. So the situation remains the same."
