Sunderland bid for Upson

According to today's Daily Mirror, Matthew Upson is a £7m target for Sunderland.

Upson has one year left on his current deal at Upton Park and will leave next summer on the Bosman ruling if he doesn't agree a new deal.

The Defender has previously worked under Black Cats' boss Steve Bruce during his time at Birmingham city.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also shown interest in the past and although Upson has had his differences with the former Blues' owners who are now in charge of West Ham, he still remains undecided about his future.
