Stoke City are reportedly lining up a move for West Ham Striker Carlton Cole according to The Sun.

It's not the first time this link has been reported as Stoke Chairman Peter Coates told the local paper, the Sentinel: "We won't be paying £15million for anyone, unless someone paid that for one of our players.

"We are looking for players and there will be players coming in and out, which is normal.

"I wouldn't rule any player in or out, football is a funny game. Carlton Cole is a very good player. We will have to wait to see how things develop."

Cole was the only player to reach double figures in terms of goal scoring last season, being the clubs top scorer with only 10 goals.

But the Upton Park owners have made it clear they will listen to offers for any player, with the exception of Scott Parker, making Cole a prime transfer target.

Potters' boss Tony Pulis is ready to rejuvinate his attack, cashing in on the likes of Dave Kitson, James Beattie and Tuncay.

If a £12m bid for Cole is successful, then Kitson could be offered as part of any deal.
