Hammers swoop for Eagles keeper

West Ham United along with Middlesbrough are chasing Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni, according to reports.

Speroni has been given permision by Palace to talk to both clubs about a possible move.

The Hammers will see him as a possible replacement for Robert Green, who may leave after the World Cup in South Africa, but with Boro boss Gordon Strachan also interested, Speroni is keeping his options open, telling the Ealing Gazette:

"A footballer's career is a short career and sometimes you have to do what's best for your family and yourself".
