Following reports this week that if Avram Grant takes over at West Ham United then Yakubu had agreed to become his first signing, today's Daily Mail claims that Everton have rejected speculations sorrounding the move.

West Ham were reportedly wanting to pay £5m for the Nigerian striker but toffees' boss David Moyes appears to be holding out for something around the £11.25m mark that he paid Middlesbrough for him back in 2007.

The Nigerian only scored five goals for the Goodison Park outfit last season, despite a normally prolific record in his eight years in the English game.
