Reports in today's Daily Mail claim that serie A side Palermo have confirmed their interest in West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami.

Palermo have long been linked with making a move for the versatile midfielder and are prepared to do what it takes to sign the Switzerland international.

A deal could depend on Palermo's Dannish defender Simon Kjaer leaving, with interest from Juventus as well as a number of Premier League clubs.

Sporting director Walter Sabatini said "I will do everything I can to bring Behrami to Palermo. He is a candidate, an excellent reinforcement, but a player who at the moment plays for another team. I like Behrami very much. We are trying to sign him, even if it is difficult".
