Robert Green's talks with West Ham over an improved contract appear to have broken down appear West Ham don't want to improve his contract.

According to the Daily Mirror, which often pops up with such fun facts, talks have broken down to improve his current £25,000 a week deal.

Now, this is a tricky one. As a traditional 'man about town', I must say that much money each week must be enough.

But then I think 'Well, if Lucas Neill can command (apparently) £75,000 per week, then how is that fair?'

Because as good as Neill is, surely Green's shot-stopping has been much more of a game saver and a relegation-staver-offer than Neill's presence?

Does he cast angry looks at the right-back when playing? Does he wonder about shouting at him every time he makes a pass back? Who knows. Be fun if he did though.

Apparently, Aston Villa (who are soon to be without a 'keeper after Scott Carson goes to Stoke or something) and Blackburn (who are soon to be without a 'keeper when Brad Friedel goes to Manchester City) are on alert.

They'll give him billions of pounds each week (possibly).
