All the chat about Valon Behrami coming to West Ham - piffle, tosh and a load of gubbins.

Such great words to start an article...what a day this is going to be.

The Lazio winger has been strongly linked with the Hammers (probably because of a random line in the Italian press picked up and strung out by the English media) but his agent has moved to dismiss such speculation.

Beltrami told "The stories linking Valon with West Ham have no basis on reality.

"He has his heart set playing in the Bundesliga, so therefore England is not a priority for him.

"The player will return from vacation this week after which we will decide his future.

"We have received offers from Germany, Spain and England but so far there are no meetings scheduled."

Apparently, the chat is the player will be plying his trade with Werder Bremen next year, which would seem a bizarre choice from Lazio.

But then again, so would West Ham as he had never said that playing in the Premier League was one of his dreams as a boy, which is the usual pre-cursor to players engineering a move over here.

If Dyer is fit, then surely he'd be a better choice anyway, but would it be better to have a bit more competition?
