West Ham United have let young striker Freddie Sears go out on loan to championship side Coventry City until the end of the season.

Sears has only featured in two of the Hammers' matches since returning from a loan spell at Crystal Palace. The 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Arsenal and the Premier League goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers.

West Ham Manager Gianfranco Zola is keen for Sears to play regular football as he has slid down the pecking order at Upton Park following the arrivals of Benni McCarthy, Mido and Ilan.
