The 31 year-old is enduring a tough time at Monaco and has failed to score in 6 matches, having made only 8 appearances since a summer move from Barcelona.  A move back to the Premier League could re-start his career.

However, L'Equipe reports that Tottenham will turn their attentions to Gudjohnsen if they fail to capture Ruud Van Nistelrooy from Real Madrid.

Both London clubs have been rumoured to be offloading strikers, with Tottenham's Roman Pavlyuchenko desperate for a move and West Ham's Carlton Cole linked with Arsenal.
