Clerc battles for the Lyon right back position with Anthony Reveillere and has been capped by the French national team on 13 occasions. West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has a problem at right back with only Julian Faubert, traditionally a winger, and USA international Jonathan Spector as options, and is reportedly looking to the 26-year-old Clerc to become his first choice right back.
