Reports in today's Daily Mirror claim that west Ham United could be set to make a move for the former Chelsea Striker, Adrian Mutu.

The Striker endured a Torrid two years at Stamford Bridge, which resulted in him being sacked after testing positive for cocaine.

He has since resurrected his career in Italy at Fiorentina, scorring 4 goals in 12 games so far this season, before suffering a knee injury. However, his agent, Giovanni Becali said: "I can't rule out the possibility of Mutu leaving in January."

"Mutu just needs to recover and play. Then we will see in January if any offers come in."

The news has alerted West Ham, but there could be a stumbling block to the deal because the Italian side are reluctant to let their star striker leave, particularly as they have qualified for the Champions League knock-out stages for the first time.
