Several reports have picked up on Guillermo Franco's claims that he is close to joining West Ham United.

Franco had been in line for a move to his home country with Estudiantes before the deal collapsed. Now, he says that his dream move to England is about to become a reality.

His agent has said that the striker is in talks with at least five other clubs.

The move for the out of contract forward means that Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola's could have even more options up front, having signed Alessandro Diamanti and still having the services of Carlton Cole and long term absentee Dean Ashton.
