West Ham United have become the latest club to be linked with a Saudi Arabian takeover.

According to sportsmedia.com, English newspapers have reported that Ali Al-Faraj, who was interested in, but failed to buy Portsmouth, who were later bought out by Sulaiman Al-Fahim.

The extent of Al-Faraj's wealth is not known, but it is understood that he is a property investor with holdings in a petrochemicals conglomerate.

Should he take over at Upton Park, he will have a sizeable debt to clear, so much so that the recent acquisition of Allesandro Diamanti had to be funded by club sponsors Sbobet.
