The Sun speculates that Wolves and West Ham are both in talks with Serbian forward Nikola Zigic after agreeing a fee with Valencia. It is rumoured that £7 million would be enough to persuade Los Ches to part with him, as the club is currently experiencing major financial problems, star players such as Juan Mata, David Silva and David Villa also being made available to the highest bidders in an attempt to halt the club’s slide.

They finished sixth in La Liga last season, and started their new season with a 2-0 win over Sevilla at the Mestalla last night- Zigic was an unused substitute. He arrived at Valencia in 2007 from Racing Santander for a fee of £20 million, and to date he has one goal from 15 appearances.

Previously he has been linked with moves to Manchester City, Stoke, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Werder Bremen and Galatasaray amongst others, and spent last season on loan to former club Santander, scoring 13 goals in 19 games and finishing as top scorer at El Sardinero. Internationally he has 14 goals from 37 games for Serbia.
