Former Hammers captain Lucas Neill has admitted that he could move abroad, as it comes to light that as yet unnamed clubs in Spain and Germany have offered him contracts. Sunderland and Turkish side Galatasaray were also linked with bids, and it has emerged that the player is ‘seriously considering’ a fresh start in Europe.

As a free agent he would not need to secure a deal by Tuesday’s transfer deadline and he continues to train three times a day with a fitness coach in his native Australia. It had been rumoured that he was seen in talks with Sunderland boss Steve Bruce over the summer, and reports in the Turkish media speculate that he has spoken with international team mate Harry Kewell, who now plays for Galatasaray, with regard to what Turkish football has to offer him.
