Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen is reportedly a target for four clubs in the Premier League, including West Ham United. His current club Juventus have deemed him surplus to requirements at Stadio Olimpico and Lee Anderson- a UK-based agent working on behalf of the Turin side- has told Sky Sports News that Fulham, Tottenham and Portsmouth as well as the Hammers are keen to bring him to England and that a meeting would be taking place this evening and any deal could be concluded by next Monday.

The player has two years left on his Juve contract but is said to be willing to move to seek first team football to preserve his place in the Denmark side ahead of next year’s World Cup in South Africa. It is not yet known whether a prospective move would be on a loan or permanent basis although it has been reported that Poulsen has already turned down the opportunity of season- long loans to Fulham and Turkish outfit Fenerbahce in the hope of obtaining a permanent move.

He began his career in his homeland with FC Copenhagen before moving to German Bundesliga outfit Schalke for seven million Euros after the 2002 World Cup. His contract there expired in 2006 and he moved to Spain, signing for Sevilla. During his time there he helped them defend the UEFA Cup (they won it the year before his signing) and European Super Cup.

2008 saw him switching to Juventus, who paid 9.75 million Euros for his services. His agent Jann Bonnesen has also told Sky Sports that his client could return to Spain with Barcelona, confirming that he had heard of possible interest from the Catalans.
