West Ham have ended their short association with Spanish striker Diego Tristan who is set to quit the Priemier League and return to look for clubs in his homeland of Spain.

The 33 year-old ex-Deportivo man had been on a year's contract at Upton Park but both parties have agreed to mutually end the deal.

He is expected to make a decision regarding his future career sometime this week, having accepted that his time in England has come to an end. He scored 3 times in 14 games for the East London club

"My experience with West Ham United was positive even though we were not able to continue with the project," he said.

"I am satisfied with my time in England and I am looking to move on."
