The Hammers are finally ready to lay the boring, boring boring spectre of the Sheffield United Court case to rest after the two clubs thrashed out a deal.

After the saga with Carlos Tevez 'apparently' getting Blades relegated singlehandedly (nothing to do with the team losing at home on the last day of the season or blowing a significant points advantage) a figure of £10 million has been thrashed out.

This means that while Sheffield United won't be getting the £45 million relgation apparently cost them, it will still rank as a win.

The £10 million will apparently be paid over five years, meaning that even if the Hammers get relegated the whole saga won't bankrupt the club.

You could say the wantaway Bellamy has even paid for the whole thing... even though Tevez was better than him.

The panel in charge of deciding compensation, headed by Lord Griffiths, was set to reconvene on Monday to settle the matter, but it appears West Ham didn't want to risk another ruling.

So hopefully that's the end of that... and the Hammers can continue as a Premier League side and the Blades can... well, do whatever they want to do with their newfound millions.

You'll all be interested to know that we have got a new goalkeeper called Jonny Henry. After he saved a great shot last night he sprang up, landed on the ball, fell over and it rolled in the goal.

Even though we lost the match thanks to him, it was still possibly the funniest thing anyone has ever done on a football pitch... ever.
