According to the wonderful news sources in France, apparently West Ham's interest in Algerian defender Antar Yahia is still ongoing.

So, rather than just spout the same three lines of drivel that will undoubtedly course its way through the internets and turn into 'fact', here's the spangly new TRANSFER-O-MATIC from UptonSparks, giving you all the info and our unique analysis on whether or not we think the move will actually happen...

Career highlights

Originally from Algeria, he moved to France, and played for Bastia after youth training at Inter. He played well when moving to Nice, but found games hard to come by so moved on to Bochum on loan, having previously had a trial with Leeds United (when they were in the Championship, not when they were good).

His goalscoring feats won him an €800,000 move two seasons ago, and he has been a regular since impressing in his debut against Bayern Munich.

He has played for France at under-18 level, and was part of the 2004 Algerian squad for the Afican Cup of Nations.

Will he be coming?

Having had a good sit down and a think about this, it looks plausible at least. He's had a good run at Bochum, so will probably command around £4 million in transfers, and at 26, looks at the top of his game.

Having lost a whole host of defenders in the summer and with the possiblity of Lucas Neill going, this is a transfer that would make sense, especially given the fairly strong transition from Germany to England that players often make.

His goalscoring exploits would also go down well, as the Hammers need to improve their potency from set pieces.

TRANSFER-O-MATIC chances of seeing him in a West Ham shirt: 6/10
