After the departures of Nathan Holland, Connor Coventry and Joe Powell within the last week, West Ham United have seen yet another Development Squad player leave the club.

This time, the player in question is winger Martin Samuelsen who has departed East London to join Sky Bet Championship side Hull City on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Norwegian only made thirty two appearances in total during his time with the Hammers since joining in the summer of 2015, having been signed by then manager Slaven Bilic.

When he first came to the club, he was being talked about as a promising young talent but unfortunately never really got the chance to show off his potential in East London and was mainly used as a Development Squad player. He did however score twelve times in total for The side who were then managed by Terry Westley.

Several loan spells followed in the lower leagues where he was sent out to Peterborough United and Burton Albion. His next move was to go abroad in order for him to test himself in one of the major European leagues and spent time with Dutch club VVV-Venlo.

He already has Championship experience under his belt, as he also spent a period on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

During his four-and-a-half years at West Ham, he made his debut against Maltese side Birkirkara in the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie before spending the last year back in Norway on loan at FK Haugesund.
