The January transfer window has already been open for a week and although little has materialised as far as incomings are concerned for West Ham United, one departure was confirmed this afternoon.

Manager David Moyes has allowed youngster Nathan Holland to leave the club and join Sky Bet League One side Oxford United until the end of the season.

Holland arrived in East London from Everton in January 2017 and it was Slaven Bilic who gave him his senior debut in the Carabao Cup third-round tie at home to Bolton Wanderers in September of that year.

The winger's next chance to impress in the first-team came in the same competition last September when Manuel Pellegrini was in charge. The 21-year-old started when the Hammers ironically travelled down to The Kassam Stadium for another fourth-round tie but unfortunately, the team were victims of an upset, as they lost 4-0.

His first Premier League appearances soon followed, as he was introduced as a substitute against both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal.

The player was an unused substitute at Gillingham on Sunday, before starting in the Development Squad's home match against Manchester United the following evening, where he also helped himself to a goal in the 2-1 victory.
