West Ham United certainly have momentum behind them having beaten one of the top-flight newcomers in the shape of Norwich City at the end of August. They will hope to carry that into September as tonight, they face play-off winners Aston Villa at Villa Park.

The Hammers haven't lost since the opening day home defeat to Premier League Champions Manchester City, meaning they currently occupy ninth place in the table with seven points.

It took until this time last season for Manuel Pellegrini's side to register their first points of 2018/19, thanks to a 3-1 victory at Everton. It meant more to the Chilean as that success was secured on his 65th birthday.

Having already picked up four points from their previous road trips this campaign, he will have reason to feel confident that his team can achieve the same feat a year later, as Dean Smith's side currently preside in eighteenth place in the table having only won one of their four games since they returned to the Premier League.

The home side's only win was in front of their own fans but the Irons will want to build on their 2-0 victory over the Canaries sixteen days ago.

It was confirmed during the international break that Michail Antonio will be out until at least January with the hamstring injury he suffered against Newport County in the second round of the Carabao Cup on 27 August.

Andriy Yarmolenko hit the post and then went on to score the second goal against Daniel Farke's side and he will hope to make a third consecutive start, while Robert Snodgrass will be pushing for a place in the starting line-up against his former club.

Tonight's match kicks off at 8pm and live coverage will be screened by Sky Sports from 7pm. The referee is Mike Dean.
