After the 5-0 home defeat to Manchester City last weekend, West Ham United now face three consecutive away games in all competitions, starting with a visit to The American Express Community Stadium to take on Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

It took until 16 September for the Hammers to register their first victory of last season and they achieved it courtesy of a 3-1 win at Everton. They will be hopeful of doing the same here as they look to kick-start their season.

The two teams suffered contrasting fortunes a week ago, whilst the Irons were comprehensively beaten by the current Champions, the Seagulls caused something of a surprise by taking all three points back to Sussex after a 3-0 win at Watford.

West Ham struggled to deal with Brighton's defensive style of play under Chris Hughton but who knows whether they'll be able to cope with the more expansive approach employed by new Head-Coach Graham Potter.

The East Londoners have had a terrible record against the Seagulls in recent years, having not beaten them since April 2012 when they were under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce.

Last season's corresponding fixture once again ended in the home side's favour, as Glenn Murray's early header was the difference between the two teams.

Changes might be required for the match, as Sébastien Haller and Felipe Anderson sustained slight knocks last weekend and will have to be assessed. If they are not deemed fit enough to be involved, then either Javier Hernández or deadline day recruit Albian Ajeti are the most likely options in attack, while Pablo Fornals could make his first start in midfield.

Aaron Cresswell could captain the side again as Mark Noble remains out with a thigh strain.

Saturday's match is a 3pm kick-off and the referee is Anthony Taylor.
