The draw for the second round of the 2019/20 Carabao Cup was made on Tuesday night and West Ham United will face a trip to Wales to take on Sky Bet League Two side Newport County at Rodney Parade in the southern section. The tie has now been set for Tuesday 27 August with kick-off at 7:45pm and live coverage is to be screened by Sky Sports.

The Exiles made it through to this stage but caused something of a surprise to knock out opponents from the division above. They survived a penalty shootout against Gillingham, which they eventually won 4-1 after a late equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw at Priestfield Stadium.
