After missing out on the capture of Maximiliano Gómez earlier in the window, West Ham United have finally landed a striker when they once again broke their transfer record as Sébastien Haller's £45m signing from Eintracht Frankfurt was finally confirmed earlier this afternoon.

Following the arrival of Pablo Fornals over a month ago, Haller becomes Manuel Pellegrini's fourth signing of the summer.

The Hammers' boss has been desperate to bolster his striking options after seeing Andy Carroll, Lucas Pérez and Marko Arnautovic all leave at the end of last season.

The 25-year-old French international has signed a five-year contract in East London with the option of a further year.

News of this potential deal emerged last Friday when Pellegrini turned his attention to the prolific striker and a fee was then agreed, meaning that Haller was able to fly to London and undergo a medical on Tuesday.

The new recruit will join up with his teammates once they return from China after competing in the Premier League Asia Trophy.

Details of any further arrivals or departures from Stratford will appear here as soon as they are announced.
