In the last five seasons, West Ham United have faced Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool on the opening day and it doesn't get any easier for the start of the 2019/20 campaign either, as they open in Stratford with the visit of Premier League Champions Manchester City.

Josep Guardiola's men will make the trip to East London for a 12:30pm kick-off as the match will be screened live by BT Sport.

The following weekend sees the Irons travel to The American Express Community Stadium to face a Brighton and Hove Albion side, now under the stewardship of former Swansea City boss Graham Potter, following the departure of Chris Hughton.

West Ham then go to the scene of their most impressive result of last season, as they try to repeat their 4-1 trouncing of Watford before their first encounter with one of the newly-promoted sides comes up on the horizon, as last season's Sky Bet Championship title winners Norwich City make the journey down for West Ham's second home encounter on 31 August.

The first international break of the season happens during the first weekend of September, this means that top-flight action resumes with a visit to Villa Park to take on Dean Smith's play-off winners on Saturday 14th prior to the arrival of Manchester United in East London seven days later.

October could be a crucial month for the Hammers with games against Crystal Palace, Everton and newly-promoted Sheffield United facing them.

Highlights of November include huge London derbies against both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in consecutive weeks to end the month. Mauricio Pochettino's side are due to visit on Saturday 23rd, before Pellegrini takes his side to face Chelsea, who are set to be under new management, following the imminent departure of Maurizio Sarri a week later.

It is always a busy month in December and this year is no different. A trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers kicks it all off for Pellegrini's men, before they are at home to Arsenal the following weekend.

A trip to Southampton follows before the festive period gets underway with the massive home encounter against Liverpool on Saturday 21.

This year's Boxing Day fixture sees the East Londoners head to Selhurst Park for a meeting with Crystal Palace and 2019 then comes to a close three days later with the visit of Leicester City to Stratford.

2020 begins with the second of that home double-header, as Eddie Howe's AFC Bournemouth travel to the East End for the New Year's Day fixture before there is a break for the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Domestic action then swings back into focus on Saturday 11th with the Irons making the long trip north to Bramill Lane for the reverse fixture against Sheffield United.

West Ham face Brighton and Hove Albion again to start February before the Premier League's first mid-season break is introduced. This means that the league will split and teams will play on alternate weekends. Pellegrini might have to wait for a return to his former club, as the Irons will travel to The Etihad Stadium on either February 8 or 15.

An away game at Liverpool follows before they end the month at home to Southampton.

The reverse fixtures against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur occur in March before another tough London derby is on the agenda to start April, as Chelsea make the short trip across the capital.

The final three games of the season see Pellegrini's men face a home encounter with Watford and a final road trip to Manchester United, before they bring the curtain down on another season with the visit of Aston Villa.

A full fixture list is available on the club's official website and as always, this site will keep its readers up to date with all the latest summer transfer activity.
