It was confirmed earlier today that David Moyes has left West Ham United along with Alan Irvine, Stuart Pearce and Billy McKinlay.

When Moyes was appointed back in November, he signed an initial six-month deal and discussions over an extension would then take place, if the club retained its Premier League status.

However, following discussions earlier this week, it was decided that a "high calibre" figure would be required to take the club forward, as well as fit the Boards' ambitions.

The former Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland boss did a remarkable job during his time in East London picking up 33 points and finishing in 13th place in the table.

In an interview with West Ham TV before the home encounter with Watford on 10 February, co-owner David Sullivan stated that he hoped Moyes would stay on for years to come.
