The draw for the third round of the Emirates FA Cup was made on Monday evening and West Ham United will face a trip to the New Meadow to take on Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town.

Paul Hurst's men made it through to this stage by beating lower league opponents Morecambe 2-0 on Saturday.

Although the league is once again a priority for the Hammers, they will attempt to make a better fist of this years competition, as they were humiliated 5-0 at home to fellow Premier League side Manchester City at this stage last campaign, so they will be hoping for a better result this time around under the stewardship of new boss David Moyes.

Due to the Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley being rescheduled for Thursday 4 January, the confirmed date for this tie is Sunday 7 January with a 2pm kick-off.

It has also been selected for live TV coverage and will be shown by the BBC.
