Gianluca Nani has reiterated the club's stance on their top players: they're not for sale.

Speaking about the rumoured sale of Valon Behrami to Roma, he said:

"I am tired of responding to questions on Behrami. I repeat - Behrami is not for sale and Roma have never asked for the player.

"Behrami is our player, we have high hopes for him so I see no reason to sell.

"Even if an offer arrived from Rome for 50 million euros we would not sell. It is not a matter of numbers but of will on our part to keep the player."

So reports that players like Upson, Bellamy and Ashton are on their way out for far less than that seem to be wide of the mark, especially when the financial 'crisis' English football appears to be in is essentially media generated.

On the other hand, there are certain players that would probably sold for a fiver and a bag of chips... come on Birmingham, we'll even throw in the train fare to get him there!
