It was finally confirmed on Sunday that West Ham United have completed the signing of striker Simone Zaza from Juventus for an initial season-long loan fee of £4m and then depending on appearances, a clause will automatically trigger allowing a £20m permanent move to be made.

The player arrived in London for a medical on Friday and becomes the club's eleventh summer signing.

First news of this signing came to fruition on Wednesday after West Ham had more bad news ahead of last Sunday's 1-0 home victory over AFC Bournemouth, as it was reported that Andy Carroll would be sidelined for up to six weeks with a knee injury suffered in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off tie with FC Astra Giurgiu in Romania.

It seems as though Slaven Bilic has finally got the man he wanted after the club cooled their interest in both Manchester City striker Wilfred Bony and Chelsea's Loic Remy, while earlier in the Window, there was significant interest in AC Milan's Carlos Bacca but Bilic personally pulled the plug on the deal, because the player couldn't decide on whether he wanted the move.

Zaza is looking forward to playing at The Olympic Stadium and showing the West Ham fans more of what he can do after scoring the winner for Juventus, as they won 3-2 in the "Betway Cup" match earlier this month.

West Ham's latest signing could make his club and Premier League debut when Watford arrive in Stratford on 10 September.
