West Ham United are set for another run in the UEFA Europa League as, despite losing to Stoke City at The Britannia Stadium last weekend, the Hammers were handed their place in Europe, thanks to Manchester United's triumph over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final earlier this afternoon.

Slaven Bilic's men won't start as early as they did last campaign as they enter the competition at the third-qualifying round stage with the two-legged tie starting on Thursday 28 July with the second-leg a week later.

The Irons had a tremendous final season at Upton Park and were desperately trying to qualify through their league position, as they wanted to bring European football to the Olympic Stadium in their first season. However, a poor set of results in the final few games meant the East Londoners finished in seventh and Southampton just pipped them to the automatic spot.

West Ham started the 2015/16 season in the same fashion, having qualified for the competition via the Fairplay league but were knocked out before their top-flight campaign began after losing on aggregate to Romanian side FC Astra Giurgiu.

The club will learn their fate when the draw is made on Friday 15 July.
