After beating newly-promoted Burnley at Turf Moor six days ago, West Ham United face a tough test this weekend, as last season's Premier League Champions Manchester City come to Upton Park for the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.

The Hammers will be hoping to make it three in a row, as they recorded back-to-back wins with the 3-1 victory over the Clarets.

The home side will be hoping to do to the Citizens what they did to Liverpool last month, as Manuel Pellegrini's team were involved in Champions League action on Tuesday when they made the long trip to Russia and back to play CSKA Moscow. Having taken a two-goal lead, they left the Russian capital disappointed, as they arrived back in England with only a point.

The Irons were the visitors to the Etihad Stadium when City claimed the title on the final day of last season thanks to a 2-0 win.

The two teams met four times last campaign and the East Londoners will want revenge, as City beat them on all four occasions by an aggregate scoreline of 14-1, but the omens are not in favour of the hosts as they have not won this fixture since March 2009.

After grabbing the second goal against Sean Dyche's side last time out, striker Enner Valencia will be looking to notch his first goal in front of the home faithful.

Cheikou Kouyate is set to return ahead of schedule after missing the last three games. Joey O'Brien could be restored to the starting line-up after he took a place amongst the substitutes last week, while James Tomkins is back in contention and could replace James Collins.

Kevin Nolan and Matt Jarvis could also earn starts, while Mauro Zarate is again missing due to a hamstring problem.

Saturday's encounter kicks off at 12:45pm with match coverage available on BT Sport from midday and behind the scenes build-up with Fletch and Sav starting at 10am. The referee is Martin Atkinson.
