If West Ham fans thought they were in for a tough test last weekend when they went up against Liverpool at Upton Park, they now face an even tougher challenge when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Saturday afternoon hoping to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The Red Devils are once again under new management this term, as Louis Van Gaal has replaced David Moyes, who was sacked in April.

United seemed to have their troubles last season and although things were supposed to get better this time around, they have only won one of their first five matches and last Sunday, despite being 3-1 in front at half-time, they eventually lost 5-3 away to newly-promoted Leicester City. So, while the home side will be looking to bounce back, the visitors will hope that they can inflict more misery on a side who they haven't beaten on their own ground since staving off relegation on the last day of the 2006/7 season.

James Collins could return to the starting line-up after featuring from the bench last weekend, while Sam Allardyce must decide whether to give Carl Jenkinson and Morgan Amalfitano their full debuts since they signed for the club. Alex Song is in contention to start his second consecutive game after being awarded the Man of the Match award last weekend. Mauro Zarate could also start.

Mark Noble will captain the side for one last time, as regular skipper Kevin Nolan, together with Matt Jarvis both returned to training on Thursday and they hope to be fully fit for the visit of Queens Park Rangers to the Boleyn Ground on October 5.

The Hammers are without Cheikou Kouyate after he suffered a groin injury in the victory against the Reds, while Ravel Morrison has joined Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City on loan this week and the deal will see him stay in the Welsh capital until Boxing Day.

Saturday's match is a 3pm kick-off and the referee is Lee Mason.
