It turned out to be a busy few hours at West Ham United on Friday as, with just under an hour left of the transfer window, Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers had offered to take striker Modibo Maiga on loan until the end of the current campaign with a view to making the switch to Loftus Road permanent in the summer.

The Mali forward arrived at Upton Park in the summer of 2012 but hasn't really made enough of an impact, despite manager Sam Allardyce showing continued faith in him at the start of this season; he filled the role vacated by Andy Carroll as the summer signing from Liverpool continued to recover from a foot injury.

Maiga moves across London having scored just six times in 39 games and will hope to help Harry Redknapp's side achieve automatic promotion back to the top-flight at the first attempt.

Along with Maiga's departure, the club have also confirmed two other exits. They have terminated the contract of Romanian international defender Razvan Rat by mutual consent. Rat only joined the club in the summer, making 20 appearances during his short time in East London, while George Moncur has teamed up with Scottish Premier League outfit Partick Thistle on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.
